Well just what the title says. Was driving to work this morning in this snow storm, turned on the street work was on when this lady in her huge ass SUV starting loosing control. She started creeping over towards me head on. Will since I really did feel like having a head on I hit the gas yanked the ebrake and tried to do a quick manuver around her, worked i missed her but ended up puttin the car in the snow bank in the ditch. The bitch she was, slowed down then sped off... ho. Anyway I get out inspect damage, counldnt tell much in this white cloud I was parked. An on-coming truck was kind enough to lend a hand on pulling me out. After the black beast was out of the snow back on the road I did a quick walk around. Didnt notice any body damage. Gave myself a pat on the back. If it wasnt for the quick ebrake I would have hit the curb at a 45 degree angle but intead I entered it more at a 25. I could hear the air leaking out of the front drivers side, so that was a downer. After clearing the air intake that was packed with snow I fired it back up. It purred back to life. I took a look under the car and didnt notice any leaking fluids. The white snow packed under it made it easy to see that there was no leaks. Thru it into 1st and did a quick drive. Steering wheel stayed straight which was a plus. I then drove it the .5 miles to work and worked for the day. When I came to no surprise the tire was flat. I thru on the spare which i checked the pressure in a couple of days ago, It was a bitch, it was so cold out and still snowing. Since I hate the cool jacks that come with the car I always carry a 3000lb normal jack in the back, which i was now thankful for as well as the winter jacket, boots, hat and gloves I keep in the trunk. At least I was prepared. On the spare it had the big warning label not to take it over 50mph. I thought the normal standard was 35, the germans just must want to out do the americans. Anyway took the tire in and had it fixed balanced and mounted. Was about $21 not to bad. I noticed a little lean in front so I hung my head took it to the shop. I would like to take a look at it myself but just dont have the resources down here. Well at least I wasnt hurt and I am keeping my fingers crossed that It has minimal damage and thankful for no body damage other then a few scratches.

PDSM it doesnt look like I am gonna make to Chi-town auto show unless the gf takes me, which she might b/c shes nice like that. Sorry dude, just a misfortune, I was looking foward to the show too

Well at least you got out of there and didn't get killed, and as a bonus, your car made it out too. I'd much rather lose a tire than the whole damn thing... I bet she was talking on a cell phone or some shit at the time as well as not knowing how to drive in snow in the first place.

crazy stuff man. at least you & the car are fine.

as for the spare tire, i'm pretty sure *most* spares are 55mph, not just the german ones.

Did you take the tire to Mr. P's Tires? He's pretty good and quite cheap. Sorry to hear about the mishap. I didn't get to Milwaukee until late Monday and most of the snow was done by then. Didn't drive at all yesterday so I missed that "storm" too. Sucks that they never plow any of the streets here. But at least you're ok.

It was a bent control arm, fucked up wheel bearing and all the other garbage up there. It was all replaced and got a fresh alignment all for the lovely price of $1200. At least I got the car back

Bahh, anything under 35 mph isn't bad at all.
