turbo mustang or non turbo eclipse?

so i found a turbo car to trade my eclipse for but i dont know about it im lookin for some advice
i have a 96 rs 5 speed its got rims tail lights cold air lowered everybody knows the everyday eclipse
what i found was an 89 mustang with an 87 turbo coupe thunderbird engine its a 5 speed in good shape has some lame littl 13 inch rims and other then that i dont know anything about it
i kbb both cars with the same ammount of miles and the mustang books for half what my eclipse books for
so what do u guys think i should do ? keep my slow every day eclipse ?or get an ok lookin way faster svo replica?
anybody on this forum know anything about the ford 2.3 turbo? i dont know anything about it
forgot to mention the mustang is a knotch back

If you 96 is in good running condition I would keep it. They are much better looking and probably better in the snow not to mention gas mileage.

i assume you wouldn't trade even up if that car books for half? even with the engine swap, it's probably a headache waiting to happen.

The 2.3 is stout, but it's really dated and with a stock turbo wouldn't be much faster than your 420a powered Eclipse. At least not fast enough to get me over the loss of style and comfort.

I had a 79 and i loved it; it can be very fast if you put alittle money in to it.

My first car was a 86 Mercury Cougar with the 2.3 turbo. Im sure a few people on this forum remember when I would bring it to point. Had some lexor 80 spoke 13 inch wire rims on it. It was a fun little car. Not a high top speed car but was quick to the next stop light. I now wish I had it for auto x. Rwd manual limited slip turbo. It would have been neat to strip out. that was 3 cars ago now and hind site is 20 20 . to trade for a mustang with the 2.3 T not to sure just depends on what you like I guess. So really I was no help.

If it were me.. I would sell my car and just try and find something else. That Mustang sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Also something to think about. Why does the other guy want to trade for your car?

I have a friend a meet at college and he has a 84 Mustang SVO with the 2.3 turbo and he loves it. He mildly built it and put on a new turbo and is currently installing mega squirt. Once he gets it running it should rip. I think it depends on what you want to get into. Not many people have that, if your looking to be different.
