Moved due to other tread being F'ed up!

Well, things are not looking too good. Did an boost leak test today and air was pouring out by the tps. Took the tps off and put a big o-ring in that side of the throttle body. Put it all back together and did another boost leak test. Air comes pouring out the other side of the t/b. At 1psi it started leaking and would only go up to 16psi.

Made an appointment at Buschur earlier today and now may have to be canceled. Have to call the place where I got the t/b from and do some bitching!!!!

Thats what you deal with when you mod a car that much nothing quite works like stock
Once you modify more then 20% of your factory parts you will begin to have major trouble however keep 80% factory and only mod up 20% you will have a great car
You must be just over 20% better take something off

Well I think the evo is ready for the road trip to Ohio. I put a total of 120 miles on it so far with no problems.

VPT and I took the throttle body apart and put some o-rings in it and there were two aluminum inserts in there that needed to be sealed up. There were 2 other boost leaks that were dealt with because I was afraid of tightening the t-bolt clamps down too much and crushing the aluminum pipes. Did a boost leak test and got up to 35psi and a hose blew off. Flared the end and put a zip tie on it and did another boost leak test. Went up to 40psi with no leaks. Kick ass!!!

The red sounds awsome!!! You can hear it very well whistling through the exhaust. Tial bov is very loud also. I had one on my white talon but could not hear it over the exhaust.

I did not really beat on the car. Turbo, cams and meth without having it tuned, who knows what will happen. I had it half throttle in 2nd and blipped the throttle and it feels like it wants to GO!!!

Thanks to the warm weather today, I was able to tear the old window tint off the car, and do a couple checks of the engine bay. An entire day will easily be spent cleaning this engine bay, as it is far dirtier and corroded as I first thought. I also was suprised to see how bad my lower control arm bushing was, it will be replaced first.

First day of the year driving with the windows down...and the heat off!

well, now that i finally have a engine hoist and engine stand the T/A is finally getting worked on. engine is 2 bolts from coming out, parts have been searched for. on the other side of the coin, the civ has a new windsheild, and CF hood. right upper ball joint was replaced, getting a new o2 here this week. sunroof has also been found and will be picked up as soon as the snow goes bye- so far the T/A has a 2.5" cat back, and K&N FIPK. When i was under it i also got a good suprise of upgraded LRCAs and some nice 275 C4 vette meats on all four corners. :D in between the engine rebuild it will be getting a cat removal and new y-pipe to replace the dented stocker. A/C and emissions removal is also gonna be done to save me a headache putting it all back in-

Well it's been a while so time for an updated. Plans have changed due to money. A shift from spend to save mode.

Here is what I was able to get done or purchased so far.
- OEM power steering pump
- OEM front LSD
- ACT 6 puck clutch and heavy duty pressure plate
- ACT 10 lb flywheel
- Blox solid front motor mount
- Kartboy poly underhood shifter bushings

Also in process of replacing the syncros in the tranny, and upgrading the TC cover bolts.

Before the season starts I will also be putting a new battery, new OEM rear spherical LCA bearings, and 60k service. Picking up a set of used race rubber for lapping days, and a set of track brake pads.

If things get better I will also be picking up some kind of suspension, and a bigger fuel pump.

It really depends what you want to spend. If you have the money I would run a twin disc like Tilton or Carbonetics. Or possibly a Quartermaster. Exedy's are very hit or miss. There seem to be more complaints with their twin disk by far. Expect to pay $1200-$4000 for the above mentioned clutches. No need for a triple.

Personally I think all you "need" is another ACT single. The current clutch in your car is the exact same one going into my car this spring. If you liked the clutch you had (BTW that thing took a hell of beating in it's life).. they are cheap.. I paid less then $500 for mine shipped new, figure adding in $200-$300 for a new flywheel if your's can't be resurfaced or you want something lighter. I'm using a 10 lb ACT flywheel, stock is 13 lb. Both cost about $250-$300. If you're looking for a clutch to handle 400 hp and want something a bit more street worthy. I'd honestly consider the ACT HDSS. It's the same clutch that came out of my car, and the same one in Toms car. Neither of us had problems with it, besides mine wearing out. But clutches will do that.

I'm curious to see if he has ignition issues. That is one of the things most people run into when going big. I'm not sure what kind of PSI the meth injection will support but the red should easily produce 30psi and that seems like a stretch for the stock ignition.

I'm hoping he sees 420whp on BR's dyno.

STIzmm that sounds like a fancy ass setup you have there.... Congrats!

Those low profile 265's should provide crazy grip!

Did you have to roll the fenders to get those to fit?

well, I sorta went overboard with the suspension. For nearly 2 months now, even before I had the car, I was searching on a daily basis for some good used coilovers (maybe JIC's or KW's). Found NOTHING. Figured I'd give Ground Control a call as they didn’t list anything on their website. Come to find out they do make a full coilover setups for subarus on a sale by sale basis. basically they don’t make an out-of-the-box setup, every order is customer tailored to the buyers specs/needs.

as for the race rubber, I hope they will fit with minimal rolling. we'll see after the coilovers are on and the current race rubber (245/35-18, which fit with no rubbing anywhere) is worn off.

So your going to try out a suspension that no one really knew they made and no one really tested. Awesome!

it's ground control. it's good. it's like buying a lexus without ever driving it beforehand... how bad can it be?

Ground Control has been around for years, and what dizzm got is just a custom combination of their awesome products. all tested on other vehicles previously, just brought together by the smart all-knowing techs at GC. errr, something like that anyways :)

as for my crate of goodness... who knows what'll happen. i do like the STi, but it's more than i really need. i'm sure i'll make one highspeed event this summer and only a handful of autoX's & shawano days. money is not my strong point right now, and we all know how much a highspeed event costs. it's isn't cheap for a day of fun. i'm in the middle right now on what to do. i have too many options. apparently, winning the lottery and keeping everyting didn't make it into my list of options though.

Never said no one had it, but rather they dont offer an off-the-shelf boxed up set of coilovers. They build them to your specs. There are few guys running these with outstanding results.
