ok guys gotta a little problem here. I just replaced my processor today and after putting everything back together and i go to turn the computer on and nothing....WTF I go back and recheck everything to make everything is in the right place. The only other thing I could think that would keep my computer from turning on would be the power supply, keep in mind i did make sure i had everything plugged in on the back of the computer too. Any suggestions would be great thanks

nope nothin....i have a feeling that my power supply was the problem right from the beginning..... I'm goin to be swapping a power supply from a different computer and that will tell me if its my power supply or not

Was it a working unit before this? Did you bump the switch on the power supply itself. It could be something simple like that.

Make sure it's plugged into the wall.

funny.... Here is how its been

I first started having problems with the problems when I would be trying to burn a dvd-r, my computer would just shut off by itself. The second occurence i noticed that whenever I am playing a game after about 10-15 minutes a playing the computer shuts off. At first I thought I needed some more ram or it was the processor. I just replaced the processor and now I have no power at all. Yes the computer did at least turn on, but only for a couple of minutes and then turn back off. I guess its time for a new computer to be built or something

To this date, and out of the literally thousands of computers that go through here, I have seen maybe one processor ever go bad.

Have you tried the new power supply yet?

the mainboard took a poop. we took my power supply and put it in another computer and that computer booted up just fine. so power supply is still good. we tried to the reset switch on the mainboard and that did not change anything. So it has to be the mainboard.

or ram... but most likely the motherboard.

Before you consider the MB toast, try removing bits from the motherboard and see if it powers up. i.e. Modem card, NIC card, RAM(well one chip and then put that chip back in and remove the other), CD-ROM's, unplug the Harddrive even.

See if any thing comes up. It's quite a long shot but it only takes a few minutes.
