Don't Stop Me
Turbo Chick
Meet at the spot 10:30pm. Now that's 10:30pm not 11pm Don't Stop Me. You must be taking punctuality lessons from Evil. 8)
Anyone else is welcome if you feel you have the mustard to challenge our finalists. Maybe that bastard with the black Integra will show up and not be scart.
This is for all the marbles folks. 2007 champion will be crowned. This event has been taking place since 1987 when my Chevette got edged out by a 4 cyl. Mustang. :(

The weather will dictate what activities we will be doing tonight. That will be determined at the appropriate time.

I think the added rule to this should be that in order for it to be your winter beater it also has to be daily driven.

the "added rule" should be that it has to be a beater.
Paul, i say your red car counts becuase you bought it WITH INTENT TO DRIVE IT THROUGH THE WINTER. even thought it is a little more than a "beater", your intentions for it were just that. an actual winter car.

i'll post this here too, so you can all read it in the proper thread:
taken from the other thread, about "what qualifies as a beater....
i realize this new generation of racers have much more advanced winter beaters, but still, they're not really beaters. this is just more of "winter racing". no actual beaters show up.
HERE'S THE DIFFERENCE: i'd challenge Dizmm to take that "beater" of his through ANY of the obstacles that Caddy or Omni went through. no way would it go through wooded bicycles trails, over back porches of apartment buildings, dead-center through small 3"-4" trees, over both curbs directly onto mainstreet, through volleyball pits, over cement barriers, through 3ft high snowbanks with people riding on the hood and roof!!! sure, it may physically make it through most of that, but there would be some serious afterthought of what it may look like when it's over. however, the caddy and omni did all of that and thensome, and noone cared what it looked like before or afterwards. it was a real beater.
and that is the definition of a BEATER!!! not something you beat on by driving hard, but something you can REALLY BEAT ON!!! both driving and asthetics!!! and not care what it looks like afterwards!!
BTW tk, nice battery powered light. can we get one for the finish line too??

I was plowing through snow banks the night before with my BEATER! my car totally qualifies! I have also been told that my car was the ugliest car some people have ever seen, so bonus points for me.

thats just a beater, something to beat the shit out of, what about those that just have nice winter cars???

What's the name of the race again? Winter Beater races.... If you have a nice winter car, race another nice winter car. But no one else has a nice winter car, so no one wants to race you. That's what I get out of all this anyways.

I don't think winter beater means it has to be a total beater. Just what you drive in the winter.
Devlish - So you want a winter beater to quality before it can race. Qualification test includes: driving through someones porch, driving over a 3" thick tree, down a bicycle trail, over a curb onto a main street, through 3 foot high snowbanks, through volleyball pits and cement barriers. Yikes that's quite a list prehaps you could simplify it a bit.

i agree, it was called the WINTER BEATER RACES for a reason. otherwise, wed just call it the winter races, or winter car races.
as for TK:
i didn't say it needs to qualify that way, my point was those things are not something many people are willing to do in their winter cars, unless it truly IS a winter beater, rather than just a winter car. and again, seeing that it's called the winter BEATER races, it's fitting. otherwise, just call it: "racing the fucking cold with whatever you want to run". then no one can complain.

.
Well you fellows are supposed to come up with parameters for the 2007/2008 winter beater contest. As in what would qualify it for this contest????? Yes you have to put in words how a car would qualify.
Example:
For the 2006/2007 contest to qualify:
- Must not be entrants only car.
- Car must not be the entrants fastest car.
- Car must be driven in the winter regularly.

kinda hard to control something like this, i mean your basically saying if your car is too fast, it cant be a winter beater. how about to qualify as a winter beater, car value has to be under 2k according to KBB at private party value.

01-28-2007, 08:08 PM
I like that idea.
speedyshelby
01-28-2007, 10:10 PM
That would mean that every car I've ever owned would fall under as being a beater. :(
devlish
01-28-2007, 10:50 PM
yeah, so if i were to drive my omni in the winter (which i won't) it could be my beater??
that's pretty open ended. a 1990 Civic CRX falls under that category by KBB, but yet with a b16 swap, it's a pretty fast car. or a 1990 Talon AWD would be pretty close to $2k on KBB, but with $5Gs in upgrades that KBB doesn't look at.... how do we rate that??
Dizmm, (Old Account)

the under 2k rule is in addition to the current rules, must be drove in winter, must not be fastest car, blah blah blah. It is not ment as the only rule.

Personally I think it should be any car that is driven in the winter. If you are too much of a pussy to drive your summer car in the winter then fuck you if you have a slow piece of shit.
Dizmm, (Old Account)
01-28-2007, 11:37 PM
i think why not just have two classes, "Winter beater" and "SUPER-FAST Winter Beater"

Who cares! We are all racing for fun anyways. Of course a freaking 60 trim should wip a 14B, tell me something i didn't already know. Just like in the summer, you race against people you think will be a good match.

Devlish take notes here. Evil came up with a parameter. AA+ bonus for Evil. Good job! :D
Instead of just ranting please list some parameters.

i have no problems with what evil said. i've been saying this all along, all we need to do is change the name from winter BEATER races, to winter races. if there is another slow piece of shit, i'll race them with my 'duh.

we should introduce a winter car class that would not be affiliated with the winter beater nationals this way posihead doesnt have to put his 150 dollar race corsica up against anything more than a honda accord almost as cheap
TomKat

All right here it is: Winter Beater - definition is staying the same.
-2nd car.
-Not the persons fast/nice car.
-Must be driven regularly in the winter.
That's the way it is #$*)(*@(*#@())()$*&$% If you don't like it you can stick it where the sun don't shine. That's final. Why? Because I SAID SO!!!!!!
Well that's if it's OK with everyone.
Seriously though what Devlish and some others want to me would be a pure beater competition. My full race Accord would be a good exaple. That has nothing to do with winter. Full Beater Bash 2007: We could do that during the summer. Rules:
-Must not be afraid of taps or rubbing. Because we all know that rubbin is racin.
-Must not be afraid of taps or rubbing. Because we all know that rubbin is racin.
That would be pretty fun.
