The fastest street car of 08

So here it is wondering your opinion of what was the most impressive street car of 08 ...
And no im not talking about your friends sub 7 second car from texas i mean the one that you were scared to run agaisnt or the one that was untouchable ,,, no tracks whores , trailer queens , or dyno batches ,,,

Heres a list of my top 6 in no particular order
The super VETTE from crapids one of the fastest vettes ive personally witnessed and it did it on the street.
Cashs VIPER mostly because it holds the current record for the standing mile, while being stock.
JJ wolfs Daily driver EVO it had a record of 43 wins and 6 losses last year
Extremes red LANCER it beat the above car once
S3srt's NEON it sounded mean ,oh yeah holds the number 2 spot in the standing mile
The DR. jekyl & mister Hyde NOVA that sometimes seemed to bring its "A" game.

Those are some of my favorites there were a few more that i thought couldve been on the list but they didnt show much (Badass88s mustang) or couldnt make it halfway into town before seizing up (insert your name here),,,, This is opinionated so lets hear yours,,, post who you liked and why, ill add them to the list. What about a truck? bike? lets hear it......

Camaro1's s-10 was the best bang for the buck and daily driver...... mid 10's in the 1/4 and drive it anywhere. When you get down that far street racing is near impossible.

The Vette gets my vote for street racing, but he can do it.... hes retired and has nothing to lose.

One car I thought was damn impressive was "Orange". Put a good driver, race gas and a tune in that car, and watch out.

I think the SRT was bar none the best fwd car out there. Fastest FWD, most reliable this whole year. My evo was the second fastest fwd car out there this year :lol:

Getsideways your EVO was just a blast, I wish you would of kept it and got all the bugs worked out of the current set up. Driving your car made me stop screwing around and get an EVO.

Stan's Vette should have raced Getsideways this year, oh well.

BTW, I did not vote for my own car in the poll.

My vote is for Dizmm's EVO. It's been road raced, drag raced, autox'd, time attacked, rally crossed, used as a snow plow, and it floats!

I think the 2008 season was a bit scrambled. None of the fast cars really raced each other. Too many people switching mods, cars, breaking, or whatever else the reasons.

I think most of the fast cars raced each other with the exception of stan versus my old car and that s-10 otherwise who else was there....
I think next year should be interesting as i think stan will be a contender on the street, his car seems a little quicker every year ,

I agree that dizzm used his car to the full and that seems like it might be the most fun and cheapest way to do it its got Nearly 80k on it and still hangs with most cars in a straight line and will kills most around a track, i really think you stepped up your driving to a another level this year,,,

Orange peel needed a better driver and some good ol maintainence ,,,, i think your srt was the fastest fwd but man poopie was sweet for being basicly a pile of stuff itd be a hard call for me which of those two id enjoy more IF i still had an evo in the garage basicly if i were in your shoes.

I think if I could have any of the cars listed up there, I'd be taking that red evo how it was prior to this winter. I liked that is was near completely stock motor with a very tasteful suspension choice and some beefy brakes to boot.

Poopy was the shit!!! Poopy was getting some pretty impresive times at the auto x's for being on street tires. Poopy won some drag races and a roll on with an evo also. I will miss poopy! :(

It was a completly stock motor and all it will have now in the motor is arp's and cams. Add a red on top of that and what more can you ask for? Auto x, road racing and drag racing. The perfect car!!!

I dont need to spend that extra few grand to have more fun. In fact, its sometimes more fun to push an underpowered car to (sometimes past) its limits.

Well, we will just see how often I am wrenching on the evo. Other than adding a couple more things onto it. You can only push an underpowered car for so long. Sure you will be able to squeak a LITTLE bit more time out of it but I would think that would get old.
