I've been slowly looking into the market for a new car come this spring. I'm trying to gather ideas right now.

So far my lists is:

Another e36 BMW (2-door)
2g DSM(stock)
Very Clean Porsche 944

I'm trying to find cars that interest me, so pictures may be helpful. The car will be much like my BMW was, a DD with some track capabilities(similar to what Lexi is). I'm more interested in making a car look great and handle great, then go fast.

A 944 is not a good idea. Very expensive to fix.

I'll knock you upside the head if you get a 944. I won't touch your car though, because I'll probably break it($$$$$$).

944 IS a good looking car though. :)

Get a honda civic SI like the one Big Erv has.

Cheap, Reliable, Sporty, and they have a plethora of go fast parts available for them.

Only honda I will buy is a S2000....i've made that promise to myself.

I won't buy an EVO, I will not become part of the usual crowd(evo's), and the car belongs on the track, not as a DD. I know that car too, I don't want an abused track car.

Thank you for the heads up on the 944, I love the looks of the car, but never dug deep yet to find out the maintenance costs.

You NEED to keep in mind, I nearly took a total loss on the BMW, I don't have as much money as I would like to buy a nicer car than my BMW.

You are nearly broke. You shouldn't be talking about getting car that looks nice that will double as a race car. You should be looking at something reliable that will get you to work and class with excellent gas mileage and low cost FULL COVERAGE. Oh and by the sounds of it not draw attention to you when you are driving under the influence.

not sure how much ur lookin to spend but i'd say buy a 00-01 3-series bmw.... my old black car i think u might have seen b4 was a great lookin car and was still quick enough to give evil a run last year at gss on the set-up day i have seen those go for as low as 5500 was the absolute lowest with high miles and no extras but a good setup like my old one you can find around 8k-10k... bmw's are good quality cars and also fun to drive...u might have noticed

In Argentina, the Avenger carved itself a solid image as a reliable car for the middle classes.

Alright...time to quiet some assumptions.

I did not have insurance on the Bimmer..only Liability. It was the same with my talon.
I am not broke, but don't have alot as of now. Which is why I'm waiting till spring to buy a car. I'm working now, and spending as little as I can. I don't have a car to double as a Race Car. I know we talked about this before, but I really do not have the itch it build a track car in any way. I don't have the funds for it anymore.

I want a car I can enjoy driving...I don't want some stupid civic just to get me from point A to point B. I also don't care about getting attention Evil. I don't drive drunk...I don't drive with anything in my system, EVER! I may drink, but its always at my house, or somewhere I walked to, never drive.

DSMGirl...I am very interested if Extreme wants to de-mod the car some, make some extra profit on it. I would love it as it sits, but am fine with making it slower for a lower cost. Again...I am interested in your car. Maybe I should just stick with buying cars from you, look what happened when I don't buy one from you, its totaled!

Ill sell you the Audi for $9,000. I get 38mpg average on the interstate....around 450 miles on a full tank of gas! As you can tell my car has never been tracked. Been to 3 autocrosses...none this year. And im hardly ever down town anymore.

I don't know man... I have the S4 and find myself reaching for the key to my 1993 Corolla more often. At $300 and 35-40mpg with 87 octane, it's hard to argue. Insurance is $130 every 6 months.

I just bought QuakerState oil and filter for it last night, $5.80 for all of it. The car paid for itself a few times over and will continue to do so forever probably.

And it's not exactly a piece of junk. No rust, no exhaust leaks, drives smooth. I even have fun driving it around hard because it just doesn't matter with that car.

I like to save money and I know you do too. I'd just look for a deal on something like that.

same here, i drove my Civic Hatch much more than the laser/omni, even lexus.... until i decided to sell it. couldn't have that many cars around anymore. got 35+mpg, cost me $10/yr in oil change. hell, i added WASTE oil every month, and changed oil/filter once a year. cleaned the air filter every 6months, and plugs once a year. the thing ran like a top for the 4yrs i had it!!! and i pounded on it.

it might be worth it for a few years to buy something cheap that costs nothing to maintain, and save up for a better car that you'd really like. instead of buying an "ok" car now, then selling it in a few years and lose money on it.

something to consider...

Very well put, I can agree with that.

I like both the black and the white one, if they were solid color with no graphics/decals.
