I actually thought this post was interesting enough to be worthy of my second (or third, I can't remember) post on CWSCC.

It's not that I don't read everything, I just don't post!

He also has a 1g with a 3kgt TT motor in it  I've also been following that thread since it started.

There's only 1% (if that) of the dsmtuner community that would be able to maintain something like that. Most can't keep a normal turbo running or tuned. Still no dyno sheets. Neat thread but I think nitrous and boost is the hot ticket.

Hes not doing it for performance, hes doing it to be different and because he can. I never understood why some people don't like it when people try something different, or make their own mistakes in life instead of not having the balls to do it on there own and learn from it. you know who you are. Ok, got that out, but it goes with this thread as well, who cares if a stock motor 16g DSM can beat the turbo/SC DSM, that thing is just original.

Over the years I never really understood why some people have to be different. I guess that's OK because those are the guys who put a shxtload of work into a car and then are easily beaten in a race. Then they get frustrated and lose interest in the hobby and sit at home and watch TV all the time.

Thats not true. I'm doing something different. It ain't gonna be easy but I'm excited. Actually I just brought the engine and getting it next week.

^ why dont you tell us what that is?
Supercharging a turbo car just to be different sounds like rice to me. Not sure why people get soo into rice. I understand building a sleeper or turning the car you love into something impressive but to go down a path that has no return other than its different is kind of useless.

Well, he also has a 1g with an V6tt 3kgt swap in it, so that tells ya what this guy is into. Also, the reason he SC'd it on a stock motor is because if something he did wrong made the engine blow, then he would only lose a stock motor. He has plans for this car.

Its hard for the simple minded to understand.
Being diffrent sets people apart from the norm, like the people that just buy stock cars and drive them like you or jeske.

I understand why people want to be different it's just not my bag.
I've seen a lot of people do performance mods. that are out of the norm. The end result is frustration and if for some reason the car is fast it's never very impressive by the time you add up the money and time invested.
VPT is the perfect example. He did something really odd to the motor in his CRX. Other than a few people nobody has seen it go down the road let alone be race ready. I believe VPT was called out this summer and was always a no show.
Well you guys just keep doing those oddball modifications and I'll just keep racing you again and again at the track. That relationship works for me. The nut behind the wheel is what makes my car different not the modifications. The best modified fastest car in the world is just a piece of crap without a driver.

At least tom isn't like the other 98% of vette drivers.

I'm pretty sure I've seen it race ready and running.... Not neccesarily driving, but it was running.

Yeah but that Vette -unfortunately for you- is in front so you can get a good look at its rear end.
How many CRX's do you see on the road every day. Hmmm. Even some old ones with carburetors. I hear those run really good.

For whats done to the motor I think it runs pretty well. First few times I had it out I had a couple problems, but for all the parts I put into that car without running or driving it inbetween I expected way more problems than what I got.
Hows your oil pump doing?

Oil pump is fine. Thanks for asking. Since my car is soooo common it was easily repaired and back on the road in 3 weeks. 2 of which were spent waiting for GM to tell me they'd fix it then tell me that they wouldn't. But at least it wasn't out of comission for a whole year.
Cars are much more fun when they run.
