Just suggestions..
T bolt hose clamps 2.5" but they need to be a bit bigger then 2.5" on the end range. the 2 5/8" max do no fit for the 7 of them on the evo.

The EVO9s use a completely different spark plug. The stock iridium plugs are excellent and do not need to be changed. I wouldn't swap to copper unless running the sauce.
I have an extra set of EVO8 plugs if someone thinks their stockers are bad but odds are they aren't. You can also get them new from NAPA for about $8 each.
The only consumables I use are diaqueen and Mitsu tranny fluids which I order from www.mitsuibishparts.net (very happy with there service).
I only use Carbotech brake pads.

The iridium spark plug set are $32.
Copper > Iridium plug anyday.
Its not like we have STI's or Audi's where changing the spark plug takes hours. For the price of one set of iridiums, you get 3 sets of copper.

I'd rather run fresh BPR7es's than some old 90k iridiums. Performance is nearly the exact same. I like knowing I have new plugs in there.

I just changed my plugs last week, the car was missing and ran like shit... pulled the iridium plugs out and they looked terrible.. shit building up on them.. yes a cleaning most likely would of worked but for $8 I just put in new plugs. The car runs so much better now.

When you had your SRT weren't the Evos the slow cars then??
In ways yes in ways no. The evo's were always kicking my ass around the track by a few seconds, straight line action the srt had much faster acceleration but lacked the abillity to get out of the hole. On a hwy pull or anything longer then a 1/4 mile run.. hands down the srt was faster then any evo I've come across.
As much as I like the brute kick you in the nuts and shoot flames at your ass power of the srt, I equally enjoy the all the time traction and tight nimble steering of the evo. They both have their pros and cons, at the end of the day I'm much happier with the EVO so far. Talk to me in 3 years and see if I still feel the same way. Had the srt been awd.. well I would probally still be driving it.

An AWD SRT would be cool, however you stick a few mods on that evo and you'll have yourself a quicker timeslip as well as kick'n some ass at lapping days and auto-x's.

Guy what are you talking bout...yes darth schooled me in a drag race on the hhy pulls home the srt walked darth pretty hard and that was when the car was only 350 whp many mods ago. I wasn't even driving my car at the time my friend was because I had no license at the time and I have 5 people in it at the time to top it off. Who exactly did you get your info from? The guy driving my car let jeff get the hit, he left off the gas 2 times during the pull to let darth catch up.
Also my statement stands.. I have never had an evo that "I have come across" that was faster on the hwy.

We could settle disputes like this with a full mile race... either side by side or simply by time. It would be very interesting to see who would finish first or be quicker to cross the 1 mile marker even if the speed was lower.
Most EVOs are crossing the 1 mile mark around 150mph. The faster cars are only 10mph quicker. If an EVO is leaps and bounds ahead at the 1/4 mile mark do you really think 10mph worth of speed on the back end would be enough to catch up? Who knows. It would be fun to find out.

Getsideways, we never got a run in on the hwy, just the 1/4 mile pulls where you won the race out of the hole and kept that lead the whole way. Seriously though you guys are taking the things I've said and keep twisting them around to however you want it to sound. My statement was.. I have not ran across and evo that was faster on a hwy pull or a race that was longer then a 1/4 mile. I said that most of the evo's beat me in the quarter and were faster around the track.
Evil like I said I would like to hear your side of the story though.. the person driving my car let you have the hit, caught you, left off the gas, you were still on it. You pulled ahead again and we caught you again, where the driver let off the gas again @ 155 ish while you were still on the gas. We both stopped at that point. Did you let off the gas at all??

Simply said I was terrified trying to follow you around in the dark, on an unknown road, that had water tracking across it every so often from lawn sprinklers, then add in drag radials that have 12 psi in them.... Um our pull on hoover started at 50mph all the way to 5th gear you never pulled on me never passed me i even let off twice in third cuz i couldnt tell if you were on it cuz it didnt seem like it,, as far as 1\4 you never pulled on me except when i had to make my 1 sec. long shifts Thats complete BS what was your trap speed at WIR mine was 113.98 in 96 deegre heat with a bad tranny and a PUMP gas tune hmm i smell BS from you quit digging yorself a deeper hole

Ok, I was gonna stay out of it...but I changed my mind.
I was in the car for the hwy race with Evil. Nick was not the driver and I can attest to the fact that the driver was scared of the car and let off several times.
As for Getsideways...you guys weren't racing. Maybe you were racing, but S3SRT wasn't racing you.

I really don't care what happened on the freeway..... I know the SRT4 when tuned and dialed in would whoop my current EVO's ass on the freeway and I'm willing to bet it would have been very close in the 1/4.
By this time next year Nick's EVO will probably be faster than the SRT4 ever was. Ballers almost always need to be ballers. That is why Extreme has been doing exactly what we told him not to do.

I never talk shit on here, mainly because I believe im friends with everyone and want to stay friends with everyone, so I dont want to take sides. Also because I usually dont know what the hell im talking about, and everyone always has to be right. I know im not out on the street as much as most of you guys are, but I dont ever remember hearing or seeing an evo in stevenspoint break a 150mph in the standing mile....they've come darn close. But i do recall a certain srt4 hitting 162mph. Its probably irrelevant given the circumstances, but who cares...I dont. I just like reading everyones smart ass comments. I do know that getsideways' car really packed a punch...I know, Ive driven it and it scared the crap out of me, and I wasnt even driving it to its full potential. But s3srt's car had a lot of top end! Too much for its own good if you ask me. So I do believe him when he says he hasnt come across an evo that was "faster"...hwy speed wise. Again this is all irrelevant and I could care less. Everyone is gonna believe what they believe is right. So no sense in arguing...it will get you no where. But still fun to read :wink:

I have no problems admitting Getsideways had a VERY fast evo, the fastest I've come across, we never got a real chance to do a hwy or 50 to top end pull as far as I'm concerned. No it did not have to be on an actual hwy for it to be legit, but the time you are referring to was not idea conditions at all for me to push the car the way I would for an actual pull. I think we can fairly say you beat me in the quarter (which I said from the very start) on the streets. You beat me on the unknown side street runs also. I do still have to attest that I was not racing though, just following on the side street play. idk if it is anything like a subaru SVX but i know tat took me bout 2 hours, and that is a 6 cyl.

I did them on my S4 in about an hour... so I'm guessing I could change them on any other car in about 3 minutes. If you saw under my hood you'd agree. :D

I'd say 10 min.. you've got pull the spark plug/coil cover off, remove 2 coils and the wires, and then the plugs.

Lol...true! I actually love the sound that the STI makes, I think it sounds tuff. I just thought what rags wrote was really funny how he put it.

I just sold my last 3 bottles of brake fluid the last 2 days. So, should i make another bulk order? I think ATE is the way to go. Motul is good stuff, but its 3X more expensive. I'll just flush my fluid a bit more often.
Does anyone else want/need some? its usually no more than $15 a can of ATE. However the more I order the cheaper it gets.

I've still got my 2 cans left over from when Evil did a buy last year. Good stuff though. If you get enough people to get the price down to $11 bucks again, I'll be in for another two cans (sometimes it sucks to have several cars that you have to maintain...).

^ There's no way you are boiling your brake fluid in a 1 minute cone dodging session. (Unless you get to hot lap like Jesse and Tom.. .then maybe) Odds are you had shit pads. Motul is pretty good but its too damn expensive. It costs more and you get only half as much as other fluids.
I continue to run ATE Super Blue that I flush with elcheapo gold stuff from autozone.
I bleed the entire system each time not just the hose near the caliper.
I cruised in to Crapids tonight and picked up some turbo blue. Price went up to $6.29! Ouch.

For autocross... you don't need any fancy fluid but a good pad can really help.

if all you do is autox, spend your money on good pads, not good brake fluid.
then again, good brake fluid is only $15... but that's $15 off your new brake pads!!
