My rear control arm eccentric bolt is purely rusted to....the control arm. I've been using my sawzall all day on it and it just can;t cut through the bolt, does anybody have anything beefier and if so, how portable is it? Just need to quick cut through this one bolt and its done.

in reply to the title....

why? you already have yourself.

on a more related note, try a new metal cutting blade. i've never been able to NOT cut through something with a sawzall, especially something as small as a bolt. try a new blade first, if not... between andy & i, we may have a cut-off wheel that might work. only thing is, cut-off wheels don't give you more than 1.5" of depth, and the good blades are quite thick. i still think a darned good blade will help, and keep it lubed while cutting. a few drops of 3in1 oil, cutting oil, or MMO will help extend the blade life as well.

unless that is a high grade hardened bolt... you shouldn't have a problem. time to find a torch i guess.

Yea, i have a small propane torch, but nothing close to cutting power, problem is the car is not going to move, so i would need to get the torch here.

What about a cut off wheel on a die grinder? I've even got one of those.

Didn't think of that, although the spot its in, it would be hard the get the depth you need. I have a cut-off wheel, but no wheels for it, as i destroyed them last summer...doing something on the talon.

now had you listened to me two days ago, you wouldn't still be bitching about this. or, had you bought a new cutoff disk for your tool two days ago, you wouldn't be still bitching about this.

thanks for listening.

Um, you told me about the blade yesterday, and without a car to go get the new blade, i still don't have a blade. Fleet farm isn't open at 10:30 when i got off work.
