i agree, after being a cell agent for over 5years, it usually isn't the bill that's messed up. not to say it doesn't happen, but it's rare. and usually only after a change has been made to the cell plan, but again... very rare. usually lots of prorate that confuses people.

crossroads commons... i'd talk to jason. the manager. however, your right... it's their job to sell you. and honestly, if you've never worked for a cell company, you have NO IDEA how much pressure the company gives you to "upsell" the customer. that is the main goal these days, add-on sales.

Phones don't cost nearly what suggested retail is. The fucking razor retails for nearly the same thing a full fucking computer retails for..... give me a break. Not only that but the razor has been available for 3 years (same retail price) and now are they trying to market the damn thing as new. cost of the razr is $50 after you sign a contract. you are correct there. But we dont make ANY money on phones at all. its all on the service. And the way it works for us and I beleave even for Altel, the agents buy the phone outright (which for us is about $240) and when we sell the phone, we get paid the $190 from US Cellular, and the customer pays the other $50.

The phone may cost $50 right out of the factory, but you cant go by that. you have to go by fair market value and what other phones are being sold for.

I'm gonna have to be honest, i HIGHLY dought that US Cellular pays $50 for the phone. I bet it cost US Cellular more around $120-150 ish. Yes you can get a computer with monitor for $300 if you want POS with no warranty.

Yup, MY COST as an agent is $240 give or take a few doolers. Now Evil if your talking about the price after contract, you should be able to find a razr for $50 or less. In fact, If I were to give one of my *good* friends a deal, I'd give them the razr for free when they signed up because we make $100-$150 in commision on the sale so i can afford to do that.

Ok, what i say here is should not be telling everyone but just so i can say I win in this argument I am gonna say it.

Phone cost for Northside Computers = $(info removed)
Sell to customer with 24month contract = $80, customer gets $30 mail in rebate.
US Cellular re-imburses Northside = $(info removed)

Now, Northside recieves Comission of $(info removed) if someone renews their contract, $(info removed) for new activation on a $40-70 per month plan, and $(info removed) on a $70+ plan.

Accessories, cost about $(info removed) for a charger with retail packaging, Northside sells them for $9.95, which is WELL below the average retail. The US Cellular retail store in rapids sells their accessories for $24.95. And I almost ALWAYS throw in a free car charger on just about every sale i make.

Now that you know my cost on everything, you're probably going to expect deals for free i guess. But keep in mind, a business NEEDS to make money.

thanks for clearing that up. i was slightly wrong, i assumed your 190 was your total commision for phone & sale. i thought that seemed low, knowing what my previous employer makes. but either way, by the time you take the time to sell the phone, explain how it works, setup the acct, program the phone, then explain AGAIN how it works, you make between $70-$110 BEFORE paying your employee for all that time, amongst the other bills at your store.

To start with, these notebooks are not your run in the middle crap-a-ware. Full 3 year warranty. Also these notebooks are different from any other Dell, or HP notebook. They use the Intel Viib, which Intel started about a year or so ago. What that means is all of the Intel Viib notebooks all use a "standard" and components can be swapped out. I cant telll you how many times a week we get a Dell, HP, or gateway notebook with a bad keyboard or something stupid, but yet it cost $200+ to fix and over a month or two to just get the part. Maybe has Windows Vista alright perfer PRO Home edition sucks ass on computers

Hardware isn't really ready for vista just yet. I would stick with XP.
