wow. the price does seem a little steep, esp with a salvage title. last summer i was looking at quite a few differeng GSRs for sara, all around that price range. same or slightly better condition.. no salvage titles.
either way, good luck selling the car, i'm sure someone won't care and snatch it up anyways.
carry on.

I don't see how it's beat. Thing runs awsome, new timing belts and pumps at 100k. Recaro replicas and tint coming soon. If I don't sell I'll just fix the stuff and keep driving it.

I could be wrong, but I gotta a bad feeling about this one--title, paint job, junk. I just wish I could see it up close--if he would post a pic of the vin or the chassis code we could really lay this to rest.

well, it does look like th GSR motor, but i'm not a big honda guy, so i could be wrong.
but yes, the wheels and cluster make me leary about the authenticity.

I don't doubt that's it's a B18C1--it's definitely a vtec head and I highly doubt it's a mini me--it would be too obvious when you look at the block, plus that's a gsr intake manifold--what I want is the chassis code--the gsr chassis codes were individual from any other dc2 and so were the type r's. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything I'm just suspicious cause of the gauge and the wheels and the paint job and the salvage title...

I can get a 99 accord that is close to mint with just a chip in the door with only 70k on it for 5k. o btw, its not repainted. I dunno what you paid for the car but the way i see it got ripped:( Salvage tittle are pretty much worthless. there's a 05 same color as mine. that had only minor damage but fix and looks mint. The guy is ask 12k for it has only 47k miles and no one is willing to pay for that. just get the fact salvage titles are worthless. Just keep ur mouth shut about the tittle and see if you can sell it to a dumb person that wont carfax it.

All gsr's are 5 speeds except for certain Canadic and Jap models
I wouldn't pay anything near what he wants for it though

I don't see how it's beat, i guess i should have said "well worn out..." not beat. i don't want to start an argument, but...
Horrible job under the hood, looks like balls. but whatever Not a show car, just stock.
not beat, but has salvage title? It would be a different story if I was Fast and Furiousing and hit something, but it was done by another driver.
also seats are worn/cracked. not unusual though for old leather, will give you that much at least. The only crack/tear is pictured.
always the proper way to lower a car... cut the springs! I didn't do it, previous owner did and I found out when it came to raising it up in the winter. Notice the !?!?, that's my confusion.
is the rub custom? if it was small enough to buff out, it would have been done already This sentance just boggles my mind. I don't know what to think of it. A custom rub? No. A hit and run in a parking lot? Yes. Why in the hell would I try to buff that out, it's down to the old paint???? I'll pretend you didn't write that for now.
...the front bumper is kinda scraped up underneath You want a slammed/lowered car, you got to pay to play. Ask anyone who daily's thier ride that is significantly dropped.
Rock chips all over.... Or dirt showing from previous rainfall. That pictures shows a dent in the hood.
arm rest all cracked and worn No, fabric is just lifted in that area on both sides, common with honda/acruas.
worn, cracked, torn, and a funky stain on there too! Not a stain, from my dogs nails. It's hard for a 120lb rotty to get comfy back there.
Ding on the fender lip there, and poor paintjob, already cracking off. can see red by trim piece. Yep it's a crease I was told could be pulled out. Paint isn't the best and is flaking because of the crease.
that ain't gonna buff out. When did I say it was going to be?
Anyways, I'll have it downtown on friday maybe so you can pick it apart some more. Car is an authentic GS-R model, tach was stolen and I bought it with the ls mesh's because I didn't want the GT-3's he had on it.

All that shit that you just said doesn't change anything. It doesn't matter who's fault it was or what caused any of the damage the fact of the matter is it's there, and you're asking too much. Authentic or not, which I'm starting to doubt but maybe it will be verified if you have it downtown, it's still a pile. You can't just expect to get a lot of money for it because it's a GSR! And since when do Hondas have carpets pulling up as a common characteristic??

^ you are not helping him with the sale. A PM telling him is price was too hgih would have been enough. What are you gonna do next put up a craigs listing pointing out whats wrong with the car?
The thing about hondas is that someone will always pay too much for it. Put that car on ebay and say that it gets excellent mileage and someone will buy it.
Car people know how to find better deals..... the average high school kid looking for a GSR would probably take a tired local car over a mint out of state car.
TheSolMan
06-04-2008, 02:30 PM
Craigslisting the problems does seem to be the new trend--I know there are going to be people who would give him even more money than what he's asking--I don't want to ruin the guy's sale for him, but at the risk of sounding like a douchebag I'm not here to help either--besides I could be wrong about everything but if he wants to try to sell that thing to some high school student who doesn't know anything than why would he put it up here where most of us know each other and most of us know a thing or two about cars and what they're worth--some people might be a little insulted by it--besides I'm not the one who reposted his pictures showing every little fault and subtitles describing them in detail

What you don't understand is that we have hundreds of lurkers on this forum. You might only see one or two posts from them but they are here. I've met people at an autox the knew I was evilution and never made a post on the forum! Word of mouth travels fast.
A local buyer may feel its worth a few extra bucks to avoid the cluster fuck that Dizmm just went through. Who the hell wants to drive to Chicago only to find out the car is a shit box. Avoiding a day of vacation for two people and 600 miles worth of wear and tear is worth something to some people.

I understand this but I didn't realize that it was my responsibility to do whatever I can to help him sell his vehicle. I thought it was an open forum, I am only sharing opinions, if someone comes on here and wants to give him what he's asking then good for him but that doesn't mean I can't say how I feel or what I think about the car.

at first, i just posted that i thought it was beat, and asking too much. that's all. i was then questioned as to why i thought it was "beat" so i answered. maybe a PM asking me why i thought that would have been proper?
I have now deleted all my irrelevant posts. good luck with the sale on that one.
