Rest easy, my friend. According to the Weather Channel, this should turn to snow sometime tonight. Supposedly. I'll keep my fingers crossed and believe it when I see it. I sure would like to have a white Christmas.

I lost power over at my house last night till 1:30am. Sucked ass since i was directly underneath the talon when it went out, and my cell phone was on the counter, so i had absolutely no light.

Why were you working on your car last night? Should of been out taking advantage of the slippery roads.

My dad told me today that SPASH is a shelter now, because some 200,000 people are without power, maybe it was 20,000(sounds more resonable). Also Tom, how could I??? The talon is in pieces with no insurance, i didn't want to take my dads 2wd truck out either, as it just wouldn't be smart since its not my vehicle.
TSi_II
12-23-2006, 06:09 PM

I'm pretty sure at it's worst it was around 30,000.... They're getting the numbers down, they have over 150 WPS crews out right now and they are getting help from Madison crews and other southern Wisconsin cities for this shit.

heard on the radio tonight about 8:00 that there are still 4000 people in Portage County without power. about 20,000 statewide yet.

Why don't you go vote for some colder weather.

I kinda wish I had purchased AK's property awhile back. Due to the Highway 10 thing, that entire area was recently reappraised. Values went up nearly 40%. Not only was that a sweet place to live but I could have made some fat cash on it.

12-26-2006, 02:26 PM
hey helby, did you find me some waterfront property somewhere local that i can afford yet?? nothing mainstreem, just with water in view and in a decent area.... THAT I CAN AFFORD!!!
I'd love to find some land before the prices are up crazy amounts. i have that feeling that when i'm ready to build in a few years there will be no desirable land left to build on.

I don't think I would want to live on the water.....though....sometimes when in a boat on the river...... it would appear that some of those houses on the hwy 10 side would be nice to have. Not much property but still neat to have your own dock and such. I think I would rather have a chunk of land like the AK compound had. Not too far out of town and not right up your neighbors ass either.
devlish
12-26-2006, 02:43 PM
i'd be happy with some land close to town i guess. not really wanting to live ON the water, or yeah, even have a dock and stuff... just withing eye-sight. i LOVE my location now, i can see the river out my window, and take a walk along the river anytime i want. just something like that. hell, i'd buy my neighbors house (the ugly green one) if i could and move next door and be pretty darned content for quite a while i think!!

There is some land for sale out our way. There are some lots off Hwy 66 right before Rocky Ridge Road (tons of trees) and there are some other lots off Cty K right before 10th Street (rolling hills) if anyone is interested.

Actually, it's ten minutes in to town down hwy 10 or 66. Or you could zip down J to HH and be at Wal Mart in less than 10 minutes. Plus there's a small grocery store that sells all the necessities so you don't have to run into town for milk if you forget it or anything like that. Not saying that living where I live is the best, but it's definitely tolerable...and the houses aren't right on top of one another. We actually have a yard that's bigger than 1/4 acre!
TomKat
12-29-2006, 09:49 PM
Yeah I hear that sometimes you find 4x4 trucks stuck in that big yard. :D
I like being in town or very very close to it, I hate having to drive even 5 minutes to get parts, food, smokes, anything. I get disgusted now having to drive half way across town to get car parts.
