Madison Sports Car Club is putting on a lapping day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway on Friday April 20th. Cost: $150. www.madisonautocross.com
The following day is a drivers school at Blackhawk Farms put on by Midwest Council. A reasonably priced school and an excellent bargain.

I'm, i'll have the talon down with me back at school then, so it would only be about a 35min. drive. I'll definatly do this before autobahn(still not sure on that one).

Thinking of this event again, do you need to be a member of MSCC, does FVSCC have anything involved? I'm shooting for this event.
TomKat

FVSCC has nothing to do with this event. A membership in MSCC is required if you attend the drivers school on Saturday.

I just paid..... I know Zoey will lap me but I hope Hutch's RX8 doesn't.
Those triple challenge folks should start registering.
TomKat
03-15-2007, 01:15 AM
Zoey will most likely not be there. Won't be getting the hot rods out until mid May.
This is not part of the triple challenge. Unless PDSM wants to have a special triple challenge with Evil.

Personally I think most of the ladies and genitalmen on this forum should attend this lapping day.
1. Its cheap.
2. Its fairly close.
3. Plenty of track time.
4. More fun than you can shake a stick at.

03-16-2007, 10:15 AM
devlish SHOULD bring the omni, but they won't let it run with no door handles or bumpers. besides, i'll be on the gulf coast beach that day. chillin', gettin some sun. sorry. (i have to catch up with the likes of you crazy vacationers!!)

I have some tuning bugs I need to work out as well.

04-01-2007, 08:54 PM
how do you like your suspension Evil?
EVILUTION
04-01-2007, 09:02 PM
Well..... There are two versions of coil overs street and track..... Since my car is a daily driver I figured getting track coil overs would be over kill so I got the street version. They ride about the same as stock maybe a little softer on the softest dampening and a tad bit stiffer on the stiffest setting..... I was hoping it would be stiffer than it is as the car still has some roll and dive. The car has been aligned and street tuned but I will be fine tuning at BHFs. There is no way to tell how it will perform on the track. I still can't decide whether to run the ADVANS or the KUMHO MXs at the event.

Props goes out to both DSMs! Raced all day and drove home under their own power. Nicely done. A big thanks goes out to Tomkat for providing pointers to the entire crew... much appreciated.
It was also good to see a few others show up to spectate! Next time bring your race car.
It appears the Carbotechs still have enough pad left to cover me in Grattan on May 4th and maybe Marshfield on May 6th. The ATE Super Blue brake fluid worked wonders as well.

Honestly, this was the most fun day of my life. I got sunburnt pretty damn bad, but iwas worth it. The DSM didn't break or anything, it did start acting up on the way home a bit(boost leak). I'm loving my suspension mods, and my choice in retaining the stock OEM brakes was a great one. The hawk HPS pads were holding up pretty damn well, only thing i'd like now is some race pads and some race rubber, my crap tires weren't doing it for me. I'll get around to the couple pictures i got later this weekend.

Glad to hear everyone enjoyed it! Radar gun results on the main straight:
PDSM - 100 mph
Evil - 113 mph
Heavily modified supercharged Mustang - 114 mph
Dizmm - 100mph
Evil - Race gas and new tuning - 115 mph
We set up a chase race between Alex with his EVO 9 against Evil, but we were unable to get more than a half a lap of chasing in because some crappy open wheel car got between us and ruined the whole session. Grrrrr. I really wanted to see this happen because they looked very close.
PDSM vs. Race Accord - PDSM wasn't really catching while following, but when he was leading he was able to pull away each lap.
I wouldn't say the DSM's ran all day without problems. They did make it home under their own power however. Unfortunately Sarge's 8-6 was making horrible noises and will have to be towed home.
Pointdsm
04-21-2007, 12:55 PM
True, i kept blowing IC pipes off all day, as well as DIZMM, finally got that fixed at the end of the day.
PDSM vs. R-Accord -- True that I wasn't on your ass while i was behind you, but i feel once i was ahead, I put a large lead on you. Race rubber on either car would have changed the outcome alot though.
That damn open wheel car, why was that in your group, hell, why was it on the fricken track!
TomKat
04-21-2007, 02:01 PM
