Okay I know some of you are sick of seeing and hearing about EVOs but the truth is you cannot pick up a Sport Compact Magazine and NOT find a pic of one so there must be something to all the hype.

The following thread was interesting to me simply because it goes to show you how much crap some people are willing to go through just to shave point zero zero one off their lap times.

One of my favorite pics is the roof shot. I heard that the EVO MR had an aluminum roof and when I visualize the roof in my mind I guess I pictured the pillars and all that crap not just the lid. This thread has some neat pics of what is really ment by the roof.

If nothing else just scan the pics and enjoy:

You know..... you should just ditch the DSMs and get an EVO especially since you have been bitten by the road racing bug.

There are bolt on modded EVOs selling on EBAY for 20k which is cheap for a reliable and functional weekend racer as well as 300WHP daily driver.

We have a shell here that is being stripped as we speak. After its disection process we will send it to be acid dipped. Following her Stay in the hot Tub we will Seam weld the car and go from there. This last season was fun but its time to get serious.
What does acid dipping do????

What does acid dipping do???? strips everything off the metal (primer/paint/etc) so it can be welded into a solid chunk of metal speed!

It eats away at the metal making it thinner and lighter. A racing trick.

And if you have an omni, dont even think about it. I remember helpin devlish sand his omni and if you put any more than 2 pounds of pressure on the car you would dent it. stupid pos omni's

have not figured out how to read a map, only reason DSM's are un-reliable at times is because you are beating on a car with 100k+ miles on it. I am not ready to upgrade to an EVO yet, but I will in a few years when they come down to the 10-15k price range.

No it doesn't. acid dipping is to remove everything that isn't metal from a car for body work prep.

Even months later when playing on the net his speakers still weren't working.

That car is long gone. and if i had a car i had since i was about 3 years old and never drove it in the winter, or course it would have no rust.

first off... that cheeseburger looking mutherfucker in your garage had the same issues on the strut tower areas.

second, my car saw a LOT of winters before i started storing it. so the salt and stuff already did it's trick on there.

very nice. Wonder how he has it setup as. Wastegate in the intake to shut off the supercharger when turbo kicks in pass the maximum psi of the supercharger. I was thinking of doing this to my conquest but I was too lazy to even do that much work.
