Well its getting to that time of year, Im looking a set of good pads that i could run all summer but still give better peformance then the stock pads. Ive been looking around, but i would like some input from some of you guys. I dont really want to pay over $250 for a full set. I plan on doing mostly lapping days this summer as long as a few auto x's. Ideas's?

Get cheap autozone pads for street duty and get a dedicated track pad for lapping days. I like Carbotech XP12s.

My stock pads are just fine, i have no need to replace them. I just hate changing pads all the time. Ohh well might as well go with a race pad. Price TK?

Evil, so your saying that the stock pads are fine for the type of driving I will be doing?

I think the stock pads will be fine for what you are doing. If you go to a lapping day and start having problems then get some performance pads.

The stock pad is the best street and autox pad you will find. If you ever show up to a lapping day you will more than likely need more heat friendly pads. In that case those R4s that TK has would be perfect. Those are what I ran on my PGT at Road America.

Swapping pads only takes 20 minutes. Very easy on an EVO.

I used stock pads on my Evo for quite a few lapping days with no problems. The R4s are better but the stock pads are sufficient. You'd probably boil the fluid or warp the rotors before the stock pads start melting. On a lapping day its pretty easy to take a couple laps at a relaxed pace to cool everything off. Its not like you're racing.
