An interesting test from tire rack comparing the top rated non-R-compound tires.

interesting, Wish they would have tested a few other street tires in there. Some of those tires are not that much cheaper than a R-Compound.

I agree with Mr. Fuji. The Bridgestone RE 0-Speedwagon is the best tire out there. :D

The REO1s are kinda pricey. The Z1s are $150 each.

NM, $142 for a 245/40-17. Not too bad.

Thanks to Tom and Andy for the offer to hook me up with tires to use after the Subaru meets chunk of Steel blow-out. The STI has got its first NEW set of tires. Went with Azenis RT-615. WoW, nothing like a fresh set of tires. Had Kieth do an alignment . Sure feels great, but to soon to have a real opinion on performace, have to wait till an event. There not noisey, wet traction is good, seem sticky. The Potenzas (RE-O 70 Speedwagons) were great, these seem similar at this point, but need some dry roads and some time to decide.
At $117.00 shipped, seemed like a bargan to me. Just could not swing the cash for the REO Speedwagons.

Did you go with the 255's?

Shawano this weekend if you want to try them out or else Marshfield the weekend (Sunday) after.

I am looking for some 255/40/17 R compounds if anyone has some available.

Used or new?

Warning: The new Victoracers from Tire Rack are over two years old.
