View Full Version : Would you buy these, if you were me??
So I cam across a set of Mopar (KW Suspensions) stage 2 coil overs for a crazy price. However there is a reason for the price. The are coming off a car that was in an accident. One of them has bent strut to knuckle brackets, the other 3 are fine. Normal price on these coil overs is about $1500. I can pick them up for $300, maybe $200.
Pic of the coil over below.

How much to replace the bent one?
If they don't have pressurized gas it can be tore down and new mounts can be welded on.

yeah, it will be hard to fix the bent one, but check on a price for a replacement one. Otherwise just run 2 good coil-overs in the front. ha
I called KW today. Cost to replace whole CO is about $400, the dampners are inserts. So maybe I could remove the insert from the mounting body and reconstruct the mounting flanges.

I wouldn't half ass it mounts if you were to go that route. They not only hold up the car but they get allot of force on them when cornering hard because they hold the spindle camber as well.

I'm gonna agree.
So get the set for $200-300, buy a new single CO for $400, and for $700 you'll have a kick ass setup. not bad. plus then you can get your car corner weighted:

i want these scales to pay for themselves.
oh, i forgot to mention i have cool race ramps to get the car on the scales, its the only way to get it up! :)
Well I found out today I can pick them up for $200 shipped. Now I'm just debating if I will be happy with a set of height only adjustable coilovers., or should I just wait and save up for the stage 3 coilovers that have adjustable dampners also. ($1500) new.

Do the dampners adjust compression or rebound?
The S2 (set I can get for $200 ) does not adjust for either compression or damping, only height.
Stage 3 Kits are height adjustable and rebound adjustable, and include adjustability of –20% to +50% over Stage 2 settings.
