sad....really sad....he was so fun to watch. 17 years....made it to the NFC championship last year. 7 all time records. sucks. I have faith in rodgers tho. and get your spot reserved now for Favres hall of fame induction in 5 years!:)

This totally sucks! I hope he has a change of heart and decides to go for one more run. Hopefully we'll pick up a good quarterback in the draft.

He's a guy that plays a game and can't pronounce his own last name... from what I hear. I lost interest.

A true veteran of the game, one of the pure players left. I'm sad to see him go.

Not only was he a great player he was a amazing role model for kids everywhere. I am grateful my son got to see him play and grow up in green bay. So many sports stars these days that kids look up to are so shitty. Favre was a exception for sure.

So we have a thread on this, but not one for Boyd Coddington's death? Who cares about a guy who can throw a football, he is still alive, just not playing the game anymore.
Meanwhile last week one of the best hot rod designer/builders passes away and no one cares? Thats pretty sad. I'm not even a huge fan of the hot rod scene and was stunned to hear of his death. He contributed a lot to the automotive world.

Both threads could be made, no need to think that a Favre thread can't be made because a Boyd thread wasn't. I agree, Boyd was a huge part of the hot rod and car world. I didn't like his work much(just not my taste in hot rods), but the man had skills and an eye that nobody else had.

Ok then my opinion is fuck boyd coddington all he did was fuck around with some cars...who gives a fuck. ( pretty much just what you said bout favre....)
You get way too defensive anytime anything is said about the Packers. Did I ever say fuck Brett Favre? No. I wasn't even saying this thread shouldn't have been started. I was just stating on a site of automotive enthusiasts its odd that this is being talked about and Boyd was never mentioned. Half the reason I even made a comment is because I knew that you would come in here getting all defensive about it right away. Its entertaining.

I did not know either of them personally, so neither of them had any importance in my life. I never even heard of this Boyd Coddington. Maybe if i sat around more at night and watched TV i might know some of these characters.
