ok, so this is something i've wanted to do on and off for a few years... and plan to do so this summer. I may have talked Dizmm into joining me so far, but is anyone else interested? i found a place in Milwaukee that seems very nice. You can actually see Milw, Chitown, and the pond all from the same drop. i think it's 14,000 feet up, with a 60 second free-fall.

for a group of 5 or more, cost is $150 per person. Anyone intersted? (price is for tandem, with instructor...)

probably early summer, June or something i'm thinking. it'd be a day trip.

If you are interested in skydiving, there is also a place up in Chippewa Falls that does it. It's called the Indianhead Sport Parachute Club. I think it's a little more expensive, but here's the website if anyone wants to check out an alternative.

yeah, i checked out a bunch of different places within the state.. i liked the idea of seeing both big cities at once from 14,000 feet up. sounded kind of cool actually. better than looking at a bunch of trees if you ask me. but thanks for the alternative option if this one doesn't pan out. you coming too barubabe?

we all could just jump off the roof of the village into the snow piles. First belly flop wins!

Tandem jumping and riding bitch. I'd rather go the old school route and learn to jump solo. 8)

From what I understand, at least at the Wissota one, you have to go through an 8 hour class before they let you jump by yourself and then they pull the rip cord right away. If you go tandem, it's a much shorter class and you get to free fall for like 30 seconds. Not sure if it's the same everywhere.

Not sure if it's the same everywhere. the one in Milw is similar... 3 hour class, but a 60second freefall with an instructor. it's also about double the price most places for solo, and yes, you pull the cord right away.

as bitch as it may be, i'd rather go tandem my first time so someone remembers to pull the cord.

I did a static line jump in college. It was weak. The only cool part was crawling out of the plane and hanging from the wing before letting go.

The tandom drop may be nut to butt ..... but freefall should present more of a thrill.

Ha ha ha. No thanks.

If you forget to pull the cord the reserve chute has a pressure actuated switch that will deploy under those circumstances
