I'm looking to purchase some ATE super blue brake fluid.

If I buy 10 cans I can get it for $10 per 1 liter can shipped.

Anyone want to go in with me?

Someone can have my can of it. Can't use it in my car unless I want to hear a loud squeek every time I push in the clutch.

I'm not sure when I'll be up there, but I should do this sooner rather than later.

If TK is coming to the MSCC autoX meeting on the 19th, I could send some cash back his way if you send the ATE my way with him.

Otherwise, I've got some friends who may or may not head up to that area (going to move there, and looking around at things), I should see, and have them take some cashola for me, and bring me some blue juice.

Or, I could drive myself. But that's a big PITA finding the time. d'0h!

Well i'll be driving down from point around the end of the month if you just want JJ to send the blue shit with me, i'll pay him, and you meet me by the interstate and pay me back?

Is any of this stuff still unspoken for?

EVILUTION
03-19-2008, 11:29 PM
Sure!!! I'll bring some to TT next week.

03-20-2008, 10:31 AM
I'll take 2 of them if you got it.

Does this stuff have any set backs. Life of fluid or anything I should be aware of?

EVILUTION

I would change it at least every year. I bleed mine 2-3 times and flush it once a year.

I would change it at least every year. I bleed mine 2-3 times and flush it once a year.

And would you do the same with say stock fluid, or does this break down or absorb moisture faster then most stock DOT 3 fluids? Just trying to get a fair comparison, as I change my fluid every 2 years or so now.

devlish

depends on how hard you drive the car. daily use/minimal track, 2 seasons should be fine. multiple hard track days... more fluid changes.

Dizmm, (Old Account)

the harder you are on the brakes, and the hotter the fluid gets, the more moisture is built up in the fluid which can lead to no brakes. Ask evil...

Super blue has a much higher boiling point than regular autozone brake fluid.

03-20-2008, 05:35 PM
Ok one last question does it mix with other brake fluids? With my abs system is nearly impossible to fully flush out ALL of the old fluid. Only way to do so is to have the dealer use the computer and pump the abs pumps, while adding fluid, and draining out of the calipers.

fordssuck
03-20-2008, 06:02 PM
You suck it all out, like a straw

TomKat
03-20-2008, 06:56 PM
All DOT 3 brake fluid should be compatible.

I flush out my brake system on the cars I race at least once a year and bleed them after each event.

I'd do the brake flush before the Blackhawk lapping day.

SgtRauksauff

TK should be picking my 2 bottles up from you, and I'll be reimbursing him.
