Here are my thoughts after attending the auto show.

Skyline GTR - Bad ass ride that didn't look so big in person. Had the I want to drive one really bad feeling when looking at it.

Corvette ZR-1 - Oh yeah baby. This was my show favorite. Huge ceramic brakes. Wish I had the money for it. I'll take a blue one just like they had at the show.

Subaru STI - In person this car did not really impress me. Looks like an ordinary car. Interior is OK. Did not get the I want to drive it feeling.

EVO MR - I have to say it looks really good in person. Didn't get to sit in it, but I really like the way it looked inside and out. The front end is really high and blunt, but I think that may be because of some damn regulation in Europe. I want to drive one. They had a EVO driving simulator ride at the show to demonstrate how the electronic handling controls work on the EVO. It was broken. :? Go figure.

Dodge Challenger - Sweet ass looking car. These were production versions not concepts.

Chevy Camaro - Concept version at the show. We'll have to see what they look like when they are ready for the road.

Honda S-2000 CR - Funky color, but I'd really like to drive one of these also. A favorite with the Waupaca crew.

Honda CRZ - Great looking car, but it was definitely a concept car that was no where near road ready. Honda says they will be producing it though.

The ride to Chicago - Hell. It was snowing most the day, but not all that much. Road were a little slushy with some icy spots.

We made it to Fond Du Lac when at 60mph a Saturn on our right side goes slightly sideways so the driver slams on the brakes sending the car into a totally sideways slide. CaviKate applies her Ice Queen driving tactics and kept on the gas to get away from the Saturn. Upon looking behind us the Saturn bounces off a guardrail right next to the Waupaca crew in Jake GSR's Integra. Jake pulls off some impressive driving and narrowly avoids getting taken out.

So we continue on. Cars in the ditch. Cars on their side. A Ranger made it over the guardrail on Hwy. 94 into the on coming traffic on it's roof. GSR Jake almost gets taken out again in Milwaukee - another close call.

So after the show we head back north. Snow and a whole shxtpile of really really slow moving traffic. We decide to take some side streets. GSR Jake comes within inches of being T-Boned by an Accord. Jake's driving skills impress us all. Took us 5 hours to get out of Chicago. :x

I hear the crz will have three power plant options. The hybrid tree hugger option, the all new turbo diesel option, or the new SI powerplant. May just be the only new car I ever buy.

i had a good time at the auto show. the drive was very long but whatever, at least we made it back.

my favorites from the show were the honda s2000 cr, lotus exige, the mugen civic was kinda cool. the cr-z will be interesting to see on the roads. i thought it looked ok. it would be cool if it came with the si's powerplant. the bmw's were nice too. the nismo 350z looked really good.

i didnt like the new sti, it looked like a normal everyday car. i didnt know that the new GT-R didnt come with a clutch pedal :(

overall i thought it was a good trip, long but good. it was a fun group of people to go with. i am glad i went. i want to give a alot of credit to the drivers, becuase it was shitty.

P.S if you every want to buy a stolen/ salvage titled car. go here http://fengauto.com/ if you stay there long enough you might get shot.

a few pictures i took....

You probably wont have to for awhile because I'm sure Tom's cock has pushed your shit up to your adams apple.

Seriously. We had a thread about the show. There were multiple discussions in other threads with lots of enthusiasm and then you fuckers pick a completely different day and fail to even mention it on the forum.

Fuck you guys. I'm out.

I was invited, and it was a packed vehical.

I made up the CWSCC event calander for this purpose. Any events that one wants to make public to all should be posted.

So your saying this wasn't a public CWSCC event then???

this was a WORLD public event. Its not the fault of the few that went, why should we be reasonable for advertising this event? If some people cough*evil*cough attended more events (Racquetball, basketball, dubay, ect...) I am sure he would be aware of other events.

Pointdsm
02-14-2008, 02:35 PM
Hmm, i attend racquetball, basketball, would attend Dubay if I was home, so I depended on the forum to let me know if you guys were going. Guess since i'm not in Stevens Point, that makes me not welcome to information.

I dont understand how you can blame us for not telling you. I dont recall you calling and letting us know about racing down in whitewater. WTF?? you guys are rude!

Pointdsm
02-14-2008, 02:51 PM
??? Because it would be insane for you guys to come down here(or janesville) to race. The fact that I am essentially on your way down to chicago is why I wanted to go. Along the same lines as posting lapping day events, to get more of us to attend.

First off i was invited, 2nd it was not my car, 3rd we had a full car. If you wanted to go to the auto show, then GO, stop relying on others. People need to learn to LEAD and not follow!

Why should others have to find out about the event and tell you, you can read cant you???

Pointdsm
02-14-2008, 03:09 PM
Of course I wanted to go, but why go alone when my friends were going as well, why not go together. It wasn't a fact that I was not being a leader, its the fact that somebody else brought up the idea and I was eager to attend. Maybe lapping days shouldn't be posted on here then, as you believe everybody should do there one thing and be a leader.

I have done my best in posting events that I am aware of. WTF do you want me to do? Why should I or anyone for that matter be responable for posting EVERY fucking event.

I'm not saying that exactly andy, more-so the fact that the event WAS posted, and people were interested in going as a group, but then all was lost when a select group decided to go and not mention it or anything. Its over and done with now obviously, but its aggravating when people are interested in doing the same thing, then are left out.....

It is no ones fault that you did not go to the auto show but your own. yes it was a more less last minute decision, but so what, if you wanted to go you should have made a few phones calls and took some action rather then depend on others.

I know I do my best to help inform others about events, so anyone that wants to yell at me about this, FUCK YOU!

If you guys wanted to go to the Chicago Auto Show so badly then you should have organized something. There was a thread about it. The usual crew of DSM Girl and T.C. did not want to attend the show this year.

I happed upon a pre-planned trip to the show and jumped on board. Wasn't my call to invite everyone.

i have two questions about the auto show trip.

1. tomkat- how fast were you driving on the way back.

2. dizmm- do you have that picture of those 25,000$ rims.

you guys may or may not have seen a midget butt on/out the integra's window when we passed you on the highway.

Those wheels are as tall as you 3ftCivic. Ha ha.

Luckily we did not catch a glimpse of the midget buttox.

After the roads cleared up north of Milw. I was cruising at 73mph according to the GPS on the Tom Tom.

We went through $95 worth of gas. How about you guys?

2-door S-10 Blazer.

You have to remember though we were basically idling from McCormick Place to the WI border on the way back.

damn those wheels were huge. i thought you guys were gong alot faster than 73mph. i think jakes spedo said 80mph and you were still ahead of us. mabye his is off alittle. and i am not sure how much gas we went through. it was about 2 tanks i think.

Dizmm, (Old Account)

yeah I think we should have took my civic or tom's A-cord, would have saved 50% or more in gas.

At 65 mph the with my winter tires the stock spedo is off by almost 5 mph according to my GPS.

I'm with TC on this. We usually plan the Chicago auto show trips, but we have somewhere else to go this year and need to use vacation days for that. There will always be the auto show next year to attend.
