Its on old man. you should probably start practicing soon. I will camcord while snowboard, I've done it many times before.
I think it would be funny to carry around a rubber mat and just throw it out in front of random skiers/snow boarders.

we already have a trip planned for the 19th-21st of January. i've currently got a HUGE bill on my credit card that's holding onto a 8person trailside lodge at IndianHead Ski Resort. 2 bed, 2 bath, 4 person hot tub, etc... we've got room for a few more yet.

Sunshine and 84* here today. I had to put on SPF 15 just to keep from getting a sun burn. I was actually on the beach in my avatar. Carole and I are staying in the Hawaii 5-0 condo in Waikiki.
Lots of trick cars down here. Saturday is Hot Import Nights.
How much was your dinner tonight?

I can't wait til i take my next vacation. Looking forward to it immensly.

i'd rather vacation while i'm able to the do fun stuff i want to do. when i'm 65-70 i'm sure i'll still be able to turn a wrench, but might not want to go parasailing or scuba diving or snorkeling or downhill skiiing/snowboarding.

Evil doesn't work hard. Only places I haven't been are all out of the country so it costs alot to go see them. I get the discovery channel so every time I want to see someplace new I just turn on the tube.

I gotta go with Evil, Helby, and Devlish on this one. Do the things you want to do now because later you may not be able to, for whatever reason. Take a look at my in-laws. Thank God they went to PV with us because vacations are one thing that they will NEVER be able to do again. So I say live it up.

Going on vacation isn't only about seeing the place. Its too bad you are soo close minded.
As for not enjoying your trip.... What to you expect when you go to a third world country where english is a second language and you dont know the first one.
I also dont recommend going on vacation with the friends you see on a daily basis.
Also it helps to research your destination to find specific places for specific meals and such. You can't just blindly go and expect to have a perfect trip.

Hmm judging by Evil's post's this morning it sound like he got up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe Hawaii isn't all it's cracked up to be. I thought they were really laid back there.

I understand Evil's position, but it's not like we went to a place where English is not spoken at all. Most of the people we encountered did speak English. As for myself, I speak Spanish (not that great, but I do speak it), so I was able to get along just fine.
And I do agree that a person should do thorough research about a place before they go. But Evil, don't let VPT's opinion on the food, etc fool you. It is kind of foolish to go to Mexico and expect to get served Taco Bell type food and then be disappointed when you don't get it. Traveling to a new place is all about trying the authentic dishes...or stepping outside your comfort zone to gain a better understanding or appreciation for other cultures.
But I do think that going on vacation with your friends is a good idea...depending on who your friends are, of course. If they are going to embarass you over a $3.00 tip, best to just go by yourselves and let them stay at home, counting their precious money.

Also it helps to research your destination to find specific places for specific meals and such. You can't just blindly go and expect to have a perfect trip. I both agree & disagree with this on two different levels.
I agree that research should be done to see if the area has what you are looking for in general. be it certain styles of food, culture, clubs, whatever you are into.
But i also disagree to the point that I don't want my whole vacation pre-planned out for me leaving no room for change. the "specific places for specific meals" is what gets me here. i'd rather know the area has a few different places to attend, then make up my mind when i get there. but go on vacation with the mindset of 'spontaneous decisions' are a GOOD thing.
ie: Sara & I went to Miami last year and i made sure our hotel was right on South Beach, in the art deco district. (less than 2 blocks from Versace's house actually) i did this becuase through research i knew that location had a LOT to offer for restarants & clubs, yet there was a variety of different style places all along the same 2mile stretch of Beachfront Boulevard. So we had our pick each night depending on our mood. not preplanned specific places. a chance for sponteneity.
do research to the point of you know you will enjoy yourself, but not to the point where its more of a job to stay on task than relax, and make decisions as you go.
this has been your 'travel tip for the week'
by Kurt Check. stay tuned next week.

I didn't mean to imply that you (VPT) had expected Taco Bell. I was using that as an example b/c I remember your wife and Majesty complaining about that on our horseback riding trip. And I didn't have any problems with food that didn't agree with me. Perhaps it was all the alcohol that contributed to the situation?
As for devlish's comments on not "over-planning", of course. I certainly don't want a minute-by-minute schedule either. But I agree that knowing about the place/area you are staying and what it has to offer is definitely the way to go.

dunno bout u but i had no bad bowl movements in mexico. you knew where we were going months before we went. u should have researched. the food at the hotel was great..they had sausage and eggs in the morning...dinner wa typical. and they ethnic dishes also.
traveling with people u see on a regular basis is ok. i now know after that trip to mexico who i would travel with and who i wouldn't. i would also include tom or evil in my journeys as well because they are both adventurous and looking to have fun. its about living life to the fullest and sitting on your fucking couch...and not getting out and doing things..even in central wisconsin...is lame...u have so many things within 2 hours of point that are tons of fun. but of course that would meanleaving the safty cocoon of stevens point...oo scary.

I don't remember complaining about the food, especially expecting Taco Bell when I hate Taco Bell. I did end up getting REALLY sick the last couple of days and it had nothing to do with consuming too much alcohol.
